It fits her 17" laptop just fine, and also has a spot to put a Kindle. She had no trouble getting the straps adjusted. They also tuck away if you want to use it with a rolly bag at the airport, which is really convenient. This backpack can expand quite a bit, but can be kept smaller when cinched up. You can fit a couple books and a sweater inside and still have plenty of room. The front section has nice little pockets for smaller things. She likes the way it looks, kind of a tweed with brown leather trim.Great bag! Perfect as that second carryon to hold smaller purse, laptop, extra layers for when the plane is freezing ?, iPad, cell phone, novel, lunch and still room left.
