We didn't use this new Asurian plan that we recently purchased for a new gaming laptop. However, Asurian handled the case we recently had with a different gaming laptop of the same make and model that we purchased with a credit card that automatically protects purchases with a 1 year extended warranty through Asurian.So, the previous gaming laptop had a defect with the power jack, and it shorted out the motherboard. The laptop was literally 2 months past the 1 year manufacturer's warranty... (of course it was!) My wife then remembered that the credit card we has used to purchase the laptop automatically extends the warranty by one year! (Kudos to my wife for remembering that!)We brought the laptop into a local computer repair shop to see if it could be repaired, but alas, it could not. The short actually blew a hole in a chip, and also damaged the other components on the motherboard, including the processor that is soldered directly to the board, which is a stupid, and cost-cutting design by Acer! It should be mounted in a socket to make it easier to replace! Anyway, among other fried components too, the board is toast! And, it would cost almost the same amount to replace the entire board, if you are lucky enough to even find a legitimate one online, and not some aftermarket, ripoff one of questionable quality.So, we didn't get reimbursed for the $100 it cost for the computer shop to diagnose the issue. But, after submitting all of the paperwork that Asurian requested, such as, a copy of the itemized sales receipt from Amazon, the receipt for the diagnosis, and a signed and dated letter from the repair store stating that the unit was unrepairable, plus I sent a photo showing the bottom label of the laptop that has the model & serial number on it, Asurian came through with reimbursing us for the full amount that we paid for the laptop, including tax! It took a few weeks, because I needed to gather up all of the paperwork that they kept asking for, but I was shocked and amazed that they actually came through for us and honored the extended warranty without any hassle!So, because of that, we decided to actually purchase the 2 year extended warranty for the new laptop we purchased. This way, we are doubly covered. We feel it's worth it. Thank you, Asurian!!! You're the best!
