I bought my bag with my own money, so this review is my own.I just finished transferring my kit old kit from a sub-$50 Amazon canvas rucksack and I'm super impressed ahead of a 48 hour there and back airplane trip. For starters the laptop ouch in the bag is sized for a 17 inch laptop WITH a protective sleeve. The one that comes with this bag is 15.6 inches and very cushy but my Rog Strix is 17 inches, so I bought a Nidoo set on Amazon and called it a day. At 17 inches with a sleeve, the velco strap in the laptop hold JUST fits.I have a lot of carry on luggage pieces that do a few things well and leave other things wanting. I have a Columbia roller that is sized to fit a Mac book in the bag's tech pouch. It has has straps to carry it as a backpack if needed, but carrying a square roller this way is hard on the back.I have a 2 suitcases in 1 from Eagle Creek I used on my tour of India but each separate bag is a large unstructured space and when zipped together the main bag is smaller that any other 24 inch roller on the market. The main bag with a laptop and clothes is also unweildy as a backpack. None of these bags could carry my gaming laptop and all my clothes.So the need to a 72-hour bag that can also hold my gaming laptop, power adapter, controller and airplane headphones as well as my clothes and ditto bag is what led me to this bag. I thing anyone can do a week out of this bag but carrying 40L across a city or an airport is NOT fun no matter what backpack you buy!The rest of my review will be expanding on the details.I'm 6 feet and above 250 lbs with a 42 inch waist and I can center the bag on my spine and just under my shoulder line and secure the waist belt with plenty of slack left over. A usable belt on a bag like this is really important as you can bear more weight on you hips that your shoulders over the long term. And airports are only getting bigger with longer walks to gates, so huge win here. There are load adjusters in the shoulder straps as well and two sets of compression straps to purge air from the bag and bring the load closer to you worse. If you've ever worn a quality hiking bag, you'll love this bag as luggage.The finish of the bag is impeccable. Not a single loose or errant stitch. Bag tags are in German and English so it is surprising quality at sub-$100.Working zippers from front to back: front most pocket is very deep and lined. Good place for things you want to grap quickly but not for valuables as there is no lock point. I like an organizer with pen holders, Keychain and such on the the front pocket of my luggage but I can live without them here.Next zipper is a non-locking pair that leads to primary storage, which opens suitcase-style. The pocket to the left of the fold it wet/dry storage as it is lined to allow the transport of damp, rung out swimsuits or towels. This pocket vents through the metal logo on the very front of the bag, which should slow mildew growth. Right of the fold is you primary clothes storage with retainer straps to keep it all in place.Next zipper is a locking pair that leads to secondary storage. WHAT IS NOT CLEAR IN THE PHOTOS is that this section is also shared with the shoe box, which is a sack that protrudes into this compartment. You put shoes in the bottom zip of the bag and you'll lose room here and if you stuff this compartment you won't get the shoes in. If you intend to use the shoe box, load shoes first!Left of the fold in the secondary compartment are 2 zippered mesh pockets for organizing. Right of the fold is more luggage space and the shoebox bag. I recommend you use this pocket for toiletries/liquids/office as it is separate from the clothes. Also, there a single zipper that will allow quick access to this secondary compartment. This is where you could leave you toiletry (ditto) bag or plastic sandwich bag for TSA inspection. This no lock hole here unfortunately but if you use a rope style TSA lock you could loop through the zip. The access zipper will fit a tablet but not a laptop so it's an idea here.Last zipper in the rear is the second and final pair of locking zippers to the laptop compartment. Inside here as mentioned is generous space for a laptop and another fabric pocket for a table or thinner laptop. There is also a long black strap with a hook on the end for keys? I don't know. The pocket for the laptop is the most minimal of paying so a sleeve is a must!I was originally going to buy a dedicated laptop backpack and use this solely as luggage but this bag in black doesn't scream "luggage" when it is not filled to capacity. I have other luggage that has about the same base weight so I do not think it is heavy.I do not like checking luggage on short trips so this bag is meant to fit this role. That said if you are an American reading this, this rucksack is the bag you can fly TO and FROM Europe and Asia with, but not within the euro zone or domestically within Asian countries. The reason for this is that Europe and Asia have very strict carryon weight limits enforced at the jet bridge. Europe's domestic carry on bag size limit is 20 inches; in the U.S. it is 24 inches. In India and many other Asian countries carryons must weigh under 12 lbs/6 kilos when flying domestic. They will literally weigh your carryon and tag it as luggage for you to be able to carry on the plane. In Europe you can expect you luggage to be measured to fit the limit. You can use this bag with these limitations in mind as long as you underpaid it to meet the limits. A quality duffel bag or in Asia a plastic woven grocery sack are a better options to meet the limits.First flight is coming soon but I'm really happy with my purchase. I will report back to see how this bag fares with the good folks at TSA.
